With an extensive background in dance, Ashely Rollins, former Timberwolves Dancer turned Assistant Coach, set out to open KLASS Mpls in 2019. Built on the foundation of her own experience in the dance and fitness world, KLASS Mpls has established an empowering and judgment-free environment for all individuals looking to take in-person and virtual classes. The KLASS Mpls mission is to “create a dance and fitness community where we can sweat together, empower each other to feel good, laugh and have fun together, and provide a space for people to truly belong to.” With a unique mission, Peel Design Co. worked to create a visual mark that captured what it feels like to walk into a “KLASS” environment. In addition, the symbol of a fist was later added to the KLASS branding system to further exemplify the empowering environment Ashley set out to create. Peel Design Co. is not only responsible for the branding and identity of KLASS Mpls, but has also created other creative content including staff headshots, customized printed apparel, and even a painted wall mural located in the studio.

Since it’s inception, KLASS MPLS continues to evolve and grow as the years go on. What once began as a dance and fitness studio occupying one studio space has later turned in a larger facility housing different portion of the brand. Because of the that, it’s only right that the brand reflects each of it’s offerings. From an overarching standpoint, the branding had to have one primary logo mark. From there, the brand has a separate component dedicated to only the fitness training portion. In all the brand identity includes a primary logo, a symbol, a mark designed for their “hype squad,”, and a mark for their personal training services. It was the goal for all marks and symbols to have a unifying feel that illustrated their mission: a judgment-free boutique studio and gym to dance, sweat, and train, housing a community that is empowering, positive, and welcoming, where we focus on becoming 1% better every day.

The Flight color palette is made from three colors: Midnight, Lightning, and Steel. They wanted something that felt more neutral, yet still packed a punch!
